Weltbehindertenbericht der WHO
Mehr als eine Milliarde Menschen lebt mit einer Behinderung. Dies stellt der erste Behindertenbericht fest, den die Weltgesundheitsorganisation WHO und die Weltbank veröffentlicht haben.
Rund ein Fünftel der betroffenen Menschen hat mit einschneidenden Schwierigkeiten durch ihre Behinderung zu kämpfen.
Der Bericht umfasst etwa 350 Seiten und liegt in Englisch und weiteren Sprachen vor, zusätzlich gibt es auch eine Zusammenfassung in einfacher Sprache, in Gebärdensprache sowie als Audio-Format und Screen-Reader kompatibles Format.

The first ever WHO/World Bank World report on disability reviewsevidence about the situation of people with disabilities around theworld. Following chapters on understanding disability and measuringdisability, the report contains topic-specific chapters on health;rehabilitation; assistance and support; enabling environments;education; and employment. Within each chapter, there is a discussion ofthe barriers confronted, and case studies showing how countries havesucceeded in addressing these by promoting good practice. In its finalchapter, the report offers nine concrete recommendations for policy andpractice which if put in place could lead to real improvements in thelives of people with disability.
